Clothing ProgramThe clothing program is an integral part of the overall BC mission to assist women in need and dress them for economic success. On a client's first visit to BC, she is greeted and assisted by a volunteer who will be by her side through the entire experience. The volunteer will assist her with the selection of two interview-appropriate outfits. The outfits may include a suit or dress, hosiery, shoes, handbag, coat, and accessories such as a scarf or jewelry. Once the client is employed, she may return to select three additional outfits and related accessories; providing her with a dynamic wardrobe that she can mix and match to create various outfits appropriate for the workplace when she begins her new journey. Bottomless Closet also offers a special event called "Inventory Reduction Sale," which is scheduled and open to all BC program clients. It provides our clients an opportunity to shop "until they drop" at inventory-reduced prices, while walking away with additional quality clothing. Clothing is donated to Bottomless Closet by professional women throughout the greater Chicago metropolitan area via scheduled weekend intakes, approved clothing drives, and special clothing events. Clothing Intake dates are the second Saturday of the month, excluding September and January, from 9 a.m.-noon in the alley behind our 445 N. Wells St. Chicago location (alley between Illinois and Hubbard Street). Please click on clothing donation guidelines and intake dates for more information . For more volunteer info, click here. |
